Getting clients as a brand-new Pinterest manager can feel like an uphill battle. Trust me, I’ve been there, and I know exactly how daunting it can be.

You’re sending out cold emails and hearing nothing back. Or maybe you’re staring at your screen, wondering where on earth to even begin.

When I started my Pinterest management business in 2019, I was in the same boat. But within just two weeks, I was fully booked!

In this post, I’m sharing the exact strategies I used to land high-quality clients quickly, without spending months figuring it out on your own.

Plus, if you’re ready to shortcut your success, I’ve poured all of my knowledge and experience into my guide, How to Gain New Clients for Your Pinterest Business, which breaks down every step of the process.

Whether you’re a Pinterest manager or a virtual assistant looking to expand your services, these tips will help you build a thriving client base without the overwhelm.

My Early Days as a Pinterest Manager

The first thing I realised when I started out was that finding clients wasn’t going to be easy.

It was such a daunting task that I nearly quit before I’d even got started.

How was I supposed to find clients when I was so new?

Instagram and Facebook were notoriously slow-growth if you didn’t know what you were doing… I mean, that’s exactly why I specialised in Pinterest, after all!

Stepping out of my comfort zone, I decided I needed to go and find my clients instead of waiting for them to come to me.

That’s right – I turned to cold emailing. And it wasn’t long before I started getting interest from people I genuinely wanted to work with.

Within a matter of days, I had signed a couple of clients onto my Beta services. Within a couple of weeks, I was fully booked—and I was still working my full-time job! 😵‍💫

It was a huge learning curve going from 0 to fully booked in such a short time. But I want to show you that it’s possible, and that cold emailing isn’t as scary as people make it seem.

A Faster Path to Success

Knowing how difficult it can be to find those first few clients, I decided to create a resource that would make the process easier for others.

That’s why I wrote How to Gain New Clients for Your Pinterest Business, a step-by-step guide that shares all the cold emailing strategies I used to grow my client list quickly and efficiently.

Even if you’re an experienced Pinterest manager or virtual assistant, this guide can teach you something new.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the valuable tips I share inside:

Sending Cold Emails the Right Way

Cold emailing works – if you do it properly. But if you don’t know what you’re doing, you risk getting caught in legal hot water.

With regulations like the CAN-SPAM Act and GDPR, cold emailing can be a legal minefield. It’s why so many people avoid it altogether, thinking it’s impossible to do legally.

When I first started, I was terrified of messing it up. I spent hours researching compliance and learning how to stay on the right side of the law.

That’s why, inside the How To Find Clients eBook, I walk you through all the important legalities – not only to keep you compliant and avoid hefty fines (£40,000+ per email!), but to help you build trust with potential clients from the start.

Avoiding the Spam Trap

We’ve all received those spammy cold emails that go straight to the trash folder. And trust me, the last thing you want is for your carefully crafted email to end up there.

But how does Gmail even decide what’s spam?

In my guide, I explain the parameters that can trigger spam filters and share personal tips that helped me increase response rates.

I break down exactly how to craft personalised, targeted emails that stand out in your ideal client’s inbox.

Finding Your Ideal Clients

One of the biggest challenges as a new Pinterest manager is knowing where to find clients who are a perfect fit for your services.

I quickly realised that waiting for clients to come to me wasn’t going to cut it.

So, I developed an Outreach Flowchart to help identify and connect with my ideal clients in a genuine and effective way.

This method took the guesswork out of finding potential clients, and I’ve included the exact process in my guide so you can do the same.

Staying Organised & My Cold Email Hack

Consistency is key with cold emailing. Sending 1 or 2 emails a day might get you a client eventually… but if I’m being honest, it’s unlikely.

In the early days, I was sending up to 50 emails a day to increase my chances of hearing back. But don’t worry – I wasn’t sending them one at a time (imagine how long that would take!).

In How to Gain New Clients, I share the free emailing system I used to:

✅ Track leads and follow-ups automatically

✅ Stay compliant with legal requirements

✅ Save hours while still reaching the right people

This system saved me countless hours while keeping everything organised and legal. If you’re looking for a time-saving cold emailing hack… you’ll find it in my guide!

What to Include in Your Emails (and What to Avoid!)

It’s easy to spot a spam email, right?

So, you want to make sure you’re not making the same mistakes when writing your cold pitches.

In my guide, I break down the 5 essential elements of a successful cold email and share the common mistakes that can get your emails ignored.

Personalisation: Mention something specific about their business

Value: Clearly show how you can help them

Credibility: Build trust by showcasing your expertise

Call to Action: Make it clear what they should do next

Follow-Up Plan: Don’t leave them hanging after one email

I also include real-life examples of successful emails I’ve sent – emails that got me complimented by potential clients for being clear, friendly, and respectful of their time.

Using Proven Templates

Why start from scratch when you can use templates that work?

In How to Gain New Clients, I’ve included three highly effective cold email templates that you can customise and send with confidence.

These are the exact templates I used to book out my services – and I’ve refined them to be even more effective based on what I’ve learned over the years.
